Italian Burgers
Not really a recipe but something I made over the bank holiday weekend whit the ingredients I had, and the family asked for burgers. I called them Italian burgers for the ingredients list.
Serves: 4 // Prep. Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
4 soft buns or your choice
4 small green courgettes
1 sprig of mint or basil
125 gr of burrata
1 plum tomato
300 gr of minced beef
150 gr of Italian sausage mince
4 slices of Parma ham
1 egg
4 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Method
Mix well the beef and sausage mince. I like to add 1 egg to help binding but it isn’t mandatory. Season lightly with salt and pepper as you like. Shape into 4 patties, quite flat accordingly to the buns chosen.
Slice the courgettes thinly and char them on the griddle or plancha without dressing. Once coloured on both sides set them apart and dress them with a drizzle of olive oil a little salt and pepper and mint (or basil) leaves. Mix well and let them marinate on the side.
Cut the burrata open and season to taste. Slice the tomatoes and get ready to grill the meat. I like to brown lightly the buns on the plancha, but it isn’t mandatory.
Grill the burgers lightly oiled on both sides for about 4 minutes on medium high heat or until well golden.
Build your burgers as you please using all the ingredients you have at hands, the courgettes, a spoon of basil pesto, the burrata, the tomato and the parma ham.
Enjoy straight away while hot.
